Saturday May 9th from 1-5pm
During times of stress, uncertainty, and ongoing personal or collective intensity, the ability to receive becomes an essential skill.
In a culture that prioritizes doing, fixing, and self-managing, we often lose touch with the wisdom of being — and with the truth that self-care is not meant to be carried alone. This workshop invites a shift from effort to presence, from self-care as an individual task to self-care as a relational and communal practice that restores us through shared space, support, and embodied listening.
This four-hour immersive workshop is designed to be both educational and deeply experiential, offering a nourishing space for practitioners, caregivers, healers, and community members to slow down, refill their cup, and reconnect with the body’s innate wisdom, allowing for integration and restoration.
Through guided somatic practice, reflective dialogue, a live sound bath and guided somatic meditation, rest, and integration, participants will explore receiving as a lived, embodied practice — not as something to earn, perform, or reciprocate, but as a skill that supports resilience, sustainability, and presence.
This experience is especially supportive for those who are accustomed to holding space for others and who may find it challenging to rest, receive care, or soften into support themselves.
The workshop is open to the general community and also offers 4 CE hours in Self-Care for Licensed Massage Therapists.
1. Arrival & Opening
Participants arrive into a welcoming, gently held space with tea and sound bath.
2. Tool Building: Receiving as a Skill
An exploration of receiving — culturally, somatically, and relationally.
3. Somatic Practice
A guided somatic practice focused on internal listening, nervous system regulation, and gentle release. Accompanied by live sound and a curated playlist, allowing participants to explore receiving sensation, support, and rest within their own bodies.
4. Journaling & Integration
Time for personal reflection, journaling, and optional small-group or paired sharing to integrate insights from the somatic experience.
5. Sound & Rest: Allowing Without Doing
A longer period of rest supported by sound healing, inviting participants into non-effort, receptivity, and presence — practicing receiving without fixing, striving, or performing.
6. Teaching: Receiving in Relationship
An exploration of receiving within relational and professional contexts. Topics may include why facilitators and practitioners struggle to receive care, feedback, or support; how to remain open without obligation; and how receiving strengthens rather than diminishes integrity and boundaries.
7. Journaling & Integration
Reflection and optional dialogue to integrate relational insights and connect them to personal and professional life.
8. Closing Sound & Integration Circle
A closing sound experience followed by an integration circle to name takeaways, harvest insights, and gently transition back into daily life.
