Somatic Sundays

Tea, Teaching & Community Healing Clinic

Join us one Sunday each month for an accessible introduction to somatic and energetic healing.

Each gathering explores a different topic related to stress, embodiment, nervous-system regulation, therapeutic touch, craniosacral balancing or Polarity Therapy. Through experiential teaching, gentle movement, self-awareness practices and a brief demonstration, you will discover practical ways to listen to your body and support its natural capacity for balance and restoration.

Following the class, a limited number of attendees may receive a 15-minute educational mini-session from a current Elevation Hive student. Sessions may incorporate craniosacral balancing, Polarity Therapy, reflexology or other skills related to the month’s theme.

No previous experience is necessary. Come enjoy tea, meet our learning community and experience a welcoming introduction to the healing arts.

One Sunday each month, 3–5 pm
$20 community admission

Mini-sessions are limited to a first-come, first-served basis. Student sessions are offered for educational purposes and are not a substitute for medical or mental-health treatment.

Hosted by Amanda Lux and students of the Elevation Hive Center for Somatic Healing Arts.

Shoulders, Burdens and Boundaries 9/20/26

September 20, 2026 from 3-5pm

Our shoulders often reveal how we respond to pressure. When stress becomes ongoing, the body may brace, restrict the breath, elevate the shoulders or create tension through the neck, ribs and upper back. These patterns can reflect physical strain, nervous-system activation and the very human experience of carrying too much.

In this experiential mini-class, we will explore the body’s response to stress and the relationship among shoulders, breath, support and personal boundaries. Through the elemental framework of Polarity Therapy, we will consider how different patterns of holding may express qualities such as effort, protection, depletion, mobility or difficulty settling. Rather than assigning one meaning to tension, this approach invites curiosity about what each individual body may be communicating.

We will then explore how this elemental understanding can inform an integrative craniosacral approach. Gentle contact, whole-body listening and an attitude of non-doing can help us recognize relationships among the shoulders, diaphragms, cranium, spine and nervous system. Instead of forcing tight tissues to release, we create conditions in which the body can reorganize at its own pace.

The class will include guided somatic exploration, accessible teaching and a brief demonstration. A limited number of participants may also receive a 15-minute educational mini-session from a current Elevation Hive student.

No previous experience is necessary. This gathering is for anyone interested in stress relief, embodied boundaries, therapeutic touch or learning more about Polarity Therapy and craniosacral balancing.

Restoring Flow: Working with Areas That Feel Stuck 10/18/26

Restoring Flow: Working with Areas That Feel Stuck

When energy is moving freely, we often experience greater vitality, creativity, clarity and connection. Stress, habitual tension, emotional overwhelm and periods of change can leave us feeling stagnant, depleted or disconnected from ourselves.

In this experiential Somatic Sunday, we will explore foundational principles of energy medicine and discover practical ways to invite movement where life feels stuck. Drawing from Polarity Therapy’s elemental framework, we’ll consider how energy is influenced by movement, food, color, sound, touch, thought and relationship, and how these resources can support greater balance in everyday life.

We will also explore the power of somatic communication and coaching. By slowing down, listening to bodily sensation and bringing curiosity to places of resistance, we can begin to understand what the body may be protecting, expressing or asking for, without forcing change.

Through Polarity Therapy and craniosacral balancing, we create conditions for a gentle nervous-system reboot: an opportunity to pause habitual patterns, settle into deeper regulation and reconnect with the body’s inherent rhythms. Rather than pushing through areas that feel stuck, we listen for the movement, resources and possibilities already present.

The gathering will include accessible teaching, energy-specific movement, sensory exploration and a brief bodywork demonstration. A limited number of attendees may also receive a complimentary 15-minute educational mini-session from a current Elevation Hive student.

The Healing Power of Stillness: Why Less Can Be More 11/8/26

In a culture that celebrates productivity, overgiving and constant activity, stillness can feel unfamiliar—even uncomfortable. Yet slowing down creates space to hear the body, receive support and reconnect with the deeper rhythms that sustain us.

In this experiential Somatic Sunday, we will explore rest and receptivity through the elemental framework of Polarity Therapy. The elements remind us that life moves in cycles of activity and rest, expansion and contraction, expression and integration. When we continually override the need to pause, our energy can become depleted, scattered or held in patterns of tension.

Polarity Therapy and craniosacral balancing offer gentle ways to support nervous-system regulation and reset. Through attentive touch, spacious awareness and non-doing, we create conditions in which the body can settle, reorganize and access its own resources. Stillness is not an absence of movement; it is a receptive state in which subtler movements and possibilities can emerge.

We will also explore why less can be more for practitioners. Effective bodywork does not always require effort, pressure or constant intervention. When practitioners slow down, listen and release the need to make something happen, the session becomes a collaboration with the client’s body rather than an attempt to direct it.

This gathering will include accessible teaching, guided somatic exploration and a brief demonstration. A limited number of attendees may also receive a complimentary 15-minute educational mini-session from a current Elevation Hive student.

Wintering Well: Seasonal Self-Care Through Polarity & Craniosacral Balancing 12/6/26

Winter invites us to slow down, turn inward and conserve our energy—yet the holidays often bring increased activity, emotional intensity and pressure to keep giving. In this seasonal Somatic Sunday, we will explore practices for remaining grounded, nourished and connected during the darkest time of the year.

Through the elemental framework of Polarity Therapy, we will consider how movement, food, color, sound, touch and daily rhythms can support balance through the winter season. We’ll explore ways to recognize depletion, overwhelm and stagnation while reconnecting with warmth, flow and vitality.

Craniosacral balancing offers a complementary pathway into deep rest and nervous-system regulation. Through gentle touch, stillness and whole-body listening, we create space for the system to settle, integrate and reconnect with its inherent rhythms.

Together, these practices remind us that self-care is not simply one more thing to accomplish. It can be an experience of receiving, restoring and aligning ourselves with the quieter wisdom of the season.

The gathering will include seasonal teaching, gentle movement, sensory exploration and a brief bodywork demonstration. A limited number of attendees may also receive a complimentary 15-minute educational mini-session from a current Elevation Hive student.
