Traditional CST is very methodical, precise, linear. Allowing Polarity principles into the session opens the healing space in unanticipated, unexpected or even unbelievable directions.

What is Craniosacaral Balancing?

Craniosacral therapy is a profound system of healing which can stand alone or accompany most other hands-on bodywork modalities safe for children, elders, infants, and even animals.

Craniosacral offers a gentle, non-invasive (to both client and practitioner) way to assist the nervous system, immune system, and the entire body/mind complex.

Through gentle touch and deep listening skills, the practitioner is able to assist the client in self regulation and release of blockages and dysfunctions on many levels; physically, emotionally and energetically.

Objectives of this class

The objectives of this class are to deliver a dimensional, pulsating version of Craniosacral therapy basics using the elemental chakric model (based on the structural configuration of the energy body) to do so.

In addition to learning the anatomy and physiology of the craniosacral system including the diaphragms and facial unwinding, we will explore how the elements and polarity principles show up in the Craniosacral modality itself, amplifying this truth consciously in our work.

This is the first level of training in the Craniosacral Balancing series and RPP level certification (Registered Polarity Practitioner), offering a dynamic introduction to this work.

Who is this class appropriate for?

If you are a mature individual, whether you are seeking personal or professional development, this class is for you if:

You have studied craniosacral therapy with other teachers and want an expanded perspective incorporating energetic principles based in polarity therapy.
You are a licensed health care provider (in massage therapy, Naturopathy, Chiropractics, Oriental Medicine, etc.) with or without prior experience in craniosacral therapy, looking for expanded body-based tools to incorporate into your therapeutic practice
You are interested in becoming a Polarity Therapist (craniosacral therapy is integrated into polarity therapy at the advanced practitioner levels).
You are not a licensed healthcare provider but you desire a thorough introduction to the concepts, history, technique, applications, and contraindications for yourself. If you want to offer hands-on healing to your friends, family, loved ones, animals, or to be able to receive this work more effectively for yourself, then this class is appropriate for you.
*Note: You are required in the state of Washington (but not in the state of Oregon for instance) to have a manual license of some sort in order to practice Polarity and Craniosacral therapy professionally. Please make sure to check the regulations for the state in which you would like to practice.

Who is the teacher?

Amanda Lux, LMT, BCPP, RPE

Amanda's passion for craniosacral began when she was introduced to Upledgers work in 2002. Amanda knew right away this was what she wanted to study and eventually one day teach, so she decided to attend the Institute of Psycho Structural Balancing in Los Angeles in 2003 to become a licensed massage therapist just so she could legally practice craniosacral!

Along the way she fell in love with Polarity Therapy which incorporates craniosacral therapy so she abandoned her Upledger studies and went through the Cranial Unwinding program with her polarity teacher Gary Strauss.

After relocating to Washington state, Amanda took additional cranial classes with Ursula Popp (who assisted Hugh Milne in his Visionary Craniosacral program decades ago). At that time, Amanda was attending the Evergreen State College incorporating her cranial studies into her somatics program that also incorporated yoga, polarity, and nutrition.

After over a decade in private practice Amanda went through the teacher training program for Polarity and Cranial Unwinding at the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts with Gary Strauss and created the Elevation Hive School for Energy Medicine and Dreamwork.

Amanda has traveled far and wide to study this work extensively and is thrilled to be bringing it to her local area. She now offers classes both online and in-person in dreamwork and energy medicine including Polarity therapy and craniosacral balancing.

Where is the class located?

We are situated in what is now called Steamboat Island (15 minutes from Olympia, WA) on ten acres of waterfront property on an inlet to the Salish Sea. Oysters and herons, otters and deer, and so many other creatures co-exist here with us and it is our intention to mindfully care for this majestic forest with as much consciousness, gratitude and reciprocity as possible.

This sacred land which sustains our school and emerging retreat center, supports one full-time family residence. Additionally, and under construction currently, we are building one 30 foot geodesic teaching dome with views of the nearby shore and have several retreat spaces that will soon be available for nightly rental as well that include one cottage and two smaller 16 foot geodesic domes.

We offer rental discounts for students who travel from near and far who wish to stay on the property during classes.

We are currently developing a non-profit called Earth In Heart Healing and Art where we plan to offer scholarships for those in need, artist in residencies, and other opportunities with a specialized focus on prioritizing indigenous people from our region and beyond.

In addition to the teaching dome we have access to a ground level "apartment" located in the newer built private family residence mentioned above.

In this space we have a private entrance, large windows overlooking the water, a covered patio to access when weather permits, a full kitchen and dedicated bathroom.
