Listening Through the Body

Integrative Somatic Healing Sessions with Amanda Lux LMT, BCPP, RPE, RYT 500

I offer online and in person somatic therapy and trauma-informed bodywork and coaching sessions serving Olympia, Washington, Tacoma, the surrounding Puget Sound region and beyond. Sessions integrate craniosacral and polarity therapy offering nervous system support and a holistic approach to wellness for individuals (and groups) seeking deeper healing through their body/mind and energy.

Located in Steamboat Island just 15 minutes from downtown Olympia, WA, in-person sessions take place in a geodesic dome overlooking the water in a quiet forest setting where we listen through the body and energetic field together, allowing your system to reorganize toward greater balance, clarity, and coherence. Phone and zoom sessions available upon request.

Who I Work With

I work with individuals who are seeking deeper support for their body and life, who recognize that lasting change doesn’t come from thinking alone, but from listening to the intelligence of the nervous system, the body, and the energetic field.

Many of the people who come to see me are practitioners themselves, caregivers, creatives, or deeply feeling individuals who hold a lot for others and are ready for a space where they can be supported in return.

Others come because they are navigating a time of transition, overwhelm, or physical or emotional stress and are looking for a gentle yet powerful approach that honors the body’s natural capacity for regulation, repair, and sovereignty.

While many sessions take place in person, remote sessions by phone or video are also available and can be a powerful way to explore somatic awareness, insight, and energetic attunement together.

Sessions are especially supportive for people who are experiencing:

• chronic stress or nervous system overwhelm
• emotional or energetic exhaustion from caregiving or professional roles
• life transitions, grief, or periods of deep personal change
• persistent tension or pain that feels connected to deeper patterns in the body
• a sense of feeling stuck, disconnected, or out of alignment physically, emotionally, professionally or creatively
• a desire for deeper self-understanding through embodied awareness

You do not need to have a specific problem to work with me.

Many people come simply because they want a space to reconnect with themselves, live in greater alignment and experience more mental clarity, nervous system regulation, and overall vitality.

What could be possible in your life, career, or relationships if you were aligned in your body, mind and energy?

What an integrative session looks like

Sessions are collaborative and intuitive, guided by what is most present in the moment. Rather than following a fixed protocol, I listen closely to the signals of your body and nervous system and shape the session accordingly.

Depending on what arises, sessions may include a combination of:

• gentle hands-on bodywork or movement
• somatic awareness and guided inquiry
• nervous system regulation and energetic balancing
• gentle craniosacral and polarity-based approaches
• reflective dialogue that helps bring insight to patterns held in the body

Many people experience sessions as deeply calming and restorative. Others experience profound shifts in perception, emotional clarity, or a sense that something long held in the body has begun to unwind.

Each session unfolds differently, but the intention is always the same: to create a space where your system can reorganize toward greater balance and coherence.

Why choose this work?

People often seek out this work when they have tried other approaches and are looking for something that engages the body, mind, nervous system, and energetic field together.

My work is particularly supportive for individuals who appreciate:

• a trauma-informed and nervous-system-aware approach
• subtle, non-forceful bodywork
• depth-oriented sessions that address underlying patterns rather than symptoms alone
• an integrative perspective that honors both science and intuitive intelligence

Because sessions are highly individualized and spacious, I work with a limited number of clients and devote full attention to each person’s process.

The Value of Ongoing Work

Sometimes a single session can create meaningful shifts. Other times, deeper patterns in the nervous system and body benefit from a series of sessions over time.

As trust and rapport develop, the work often becomes more spacious and nuanced. Your system learns that it is safe to reveal deeper layers, and we are able to follow processes more fully as they unfold.

For this reason, many clients choose to work together over a series of sessions, allowing change to emerge gradually and integrate more sustainably.

You are always welcome to begin with a single session and then decide together whether ongoing work would feel supportive.

A Note on Integrative Somatic Work

The work I offer integrates bodywork, somatic awareness, and energetic approaches that support nervous system regulation and embodied insight.

While sessions may include reflective conversation and somatic inquiry, this work is not psychotherapy and is not a substitute for licensed mental health treatment. It is a body-based, experiential approach that supports individuals in reconnecting with their own internal resources and self-regulating capacities.

If at any point it becomes clear that additional support would be beneficial, I am always happy to help connect clients with appropriate licensed professionals.

Creativity and the Somatic Process

In addition to individual sessions, I also enjoy working with couples and small groups who wish to deepen communication, awareness, and relational presence. This may include creative partners, professional collaborators, caregiving teams, or organizations interested in bringing somatic awareness and nervous system literacy into their work together.

From Inspiration to Form

As an artist and writer myself, I am especially inspired by working with creatives who are seeking support in their creative process. Sessions can offer a space to listen more deeply for the ideas, images, and impulses that are wanting to take form, helping individuals move through blocks, clarify direction, bring meaningful projects into expression or help them to finally come to completion.

*My work is designed for adults and is best suited for those who feel drawn to exploring personal, relational, or creative growth through embodied awareness and somatic listening.

Integrative Healing Sessions may include any or all of the following modalities:

Therapeutic massage, Craniosacral and/or Polarity Therapy, Reflexology, Somatic Yoga, BodyMind Bridge hypnotherapy, Dreamwork, Somatic Coaching, Mentorship, and more.

Each session is custom designed to meet your unique needs at the time of your appointment. You do not need to know which modality you want to receive ahead of time.

Overview of Modalities I Offer

Massage Therapy & Reflexology

Massage may be one aspect of what we do together but the intention behind the bodywork is what makes this different. All massage sessions begin with a somatic energetic check in which starts off the table. I can (but do not have to) combine multiple modalities weaving in craniosacral, polarity, guided visualizations in a form of body based hypnotherapy, reflexology and more.

My massage techniques offer therapeutic benefits for scar tissue, fascial release, nervous system support, injury treatment or body/mind wellness. I offer various levels of pressure but do not offer strictly deep tissue or sports massage. My sessions are intuitive, nurturing, relaxing and therapeutic.

Reflexology offers focused work on the hands, feet and/or ears.

Polarity Therapy

Polarity can be combined with massage therapy or offered as a stand alone treatment. Polarity is a holistic form of body based energy work. Polarity includes energetic dialogue or somatic coaching and education, nutrition, accessible yoga-like exorcises that balance the chakras, craniosacral and nervous system balancing techniques and physical bodywork. The first part of the session is done in a chair or off-the table, and usually at least half or 3/4 of the session takes place on a massage table clothed.

Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral therapy works with the bones and fluids of the cranium and spine, fascia or connective tissue, and the nervous system to restore balance and vitality to the entire being. It is gentle, non-invasive, and extremely effective for overall health and wellness.

Mentorship/Somatic Energetic Coaching

Heal emotionally, physically, or energetically, remember your deepest longings and map a way there, launch a new project into the world, build a private practice, tap into your inner artist, change a habit, or transform an outdated pattern to allow new possibilities into your life.

Trained as a transformational life coach at the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts, I combine life experience and over 20 years of expertise with somatic energetic tools. These sessions are designed to offer clarity, support and accountability. All coaching sessions can be online or in person.

Hypnotherapy and Dreamwork

Body Mind Bridge Hypnotherapy works with both the conscious mind and the subconscious mind through guided visualizations and bodywork and can easily be combined with most other modalities. Dreamwork can be included, or can be offered as a stand alone session option for accessing various states of consciousness for the health and well being of your body, mind and soul. I do not typically journey on other peoples behalf, rather I educate and facilitate your own direct connection with your guides and allies. Sessions can be in person or over the phone or online.

Polarity Somatic Yoga

Polarity Somatic Yoga is a group practice (although private sessions are also available) that engages the whole person physically mentally, emotionally and most of all energetically in a conscious exploration of embodiment.

Each practice ranges from gentle and subtle to vigorous depending on what you need, and is taught from a trauma informed lens. Guided movement meditations and thoughtful supportive cuing to music is offered throughout, in a way that is adaptable for any physical "limitations" (or invitations, as I like to call them).

The aim of this practice is threefold:

  1. To befriend and inhabit our body with as much agency and self-awareness as possible.

  2. To process the energy of our mind, emotions, and life that are stored in and affecting our physical experience and our overall health and well-being.

  3. To organize and optimize our energy, and therefor our health, in a holistic exploratory way, while deeply listening to and honoring the intelligence of our bodymind organism.

These sessions and classes are offered in-person, online and on-demand. Group practice is especially potent as we amplify one another's intentions and and co-regulate one another's nervous systems.

In each class/session we will explore the sacred terrain of the body/mind/energy matrix through various combinations of adaptive Yoga Asana, guided visualization, free/intuitive movement, various exercises rooted in Cranioscral and Polarity Therapy and a variety of other somatic practices.

Who is this suitable for?

  • Both experienced movers and beginners, (especially individuals who may feel resistance to or are uncomfortable attending standard yoga or movement classes)

  • Mature young adults all the way through to elders (at this time group classes are not curated for children)

  • People recovering from injuries or chronic illness who are open to engaging the imagination and using mindfulness as a tool to enhance presence, embodiment and healing

  • Sensitive individuals who are looking for support with nervous system regulation

  • Yoga, meditation, healing arts practitioners or anyone interested in learning holistic energetic embodiment practices to enhance overall health and wellness

*At this time we are not wheelchair accessible for in-person classes/sessions and there are stairs to access the restroom

How does energy work benefit bodywork?

Everything begins as energy. Thoughts, emotions, and even physical imbalances have energetic roots. When energy is held, disrupted, or patterns itself in response to stress or trauma, it can eventually manifest in the body as tension, pain, or illness. By the time we feel a symptom, the original energetic disruption has often been present for quite some time.

Energy work offers a way to trace issues back to their source before they crystallize physically. When we learn to listen to our energy, and cultivate practices that help it move, balance, and integrate, we become more empowered to shift not only physical discomfort, but also emotional and mental patterns that keep us stuck.

In this way, energy work deepens and expands the benefits of bodywork. It supports your system in releasing the underlying patterns, whether emotional, neurological, or spiritual, that created the physical imbalance in the first place.

Without this deeper attention, the symptoms we "treat" may disappear temporarily but resurface elsewhere in another part of the body, or another area of our life. When we address the root energetically, we open the door to lasting change, healing, and even self-actualization.

I offer a blend of somatic and energetic modalities in a holistic format that honors the innate intelligence of your body and energy field. These sessions support your natural capacity to heal, restore balance, and reconnect with your embodied wisdom.

Benefits of Integrative Body-based Energy Work:

  • Helps release chronic tension and long-held trauma patterns

  • Supports nervous system regulation and deep relaxation

  • Addresses root causes of an imbalance; physical, emotional, and energetic

  • Enhances the effectiveness and longevity of bodywork results

  • Increases self-awareness and connection to body wisdom

  • Promotes emotional clarity and resilience

  • Provides gentle support for processing grief and loss

  • Eases the emotional strain of major life transitions

  • Helps unwind patterns associated with PTSD and trauma

  • Encourages the release of stored emotional pain held in the tissues

  • Restores a sense of safety, trust, and groundedness in the body

  • Boosts energy flow and vitality throughout the body

  • Encourages spiritual alignment and self-actualization

  • Fosters a sense of wholeness, presence, and inner peace

  • Creates space for meaningful shifts in both body and life

About Amanda

I began my professional healing practice in 2003 in L.A. where I studied energy based therapeutic massage, Craniosacral Unwinding and Polarity Therapy at the school of Integrative Psycho Structural Bodywork.

I have run a thriving private healing practice in Olympia, WA since 2006 (after relocating my practice from LA). I have given over ten thousand sessions blending therapeutic massage, polarity therapy, intuitive reading, craniosacral balancing, reflexology, hypnotherapy and life coaching both in person and online. Experience has been by far my greatest education.

As a healing arts practitioner I endeavor to deeply listen to my clients, holding space for the body, mind and soul to unwind. I offer a trauma informed approach to all.

My greatest joy is in witnessing and empowering my clients and students to tap into their innate healing capacity.

Each session is a co-creation. Through artful facilitation and deep listening, I look forward to supporting you on your healing journey.
